Israeli cybersecurity company Sentra has secured $150 million in a Series C funding round, bringing its total funding to over $250 million. The company reported a 300% annual growth rate. While the valuation for this round was not disclosed, CEO Yoav Regev stated that the company's valuation has tripled since its previous funding round. Industry estimates suggest Sentra is close to achieving a $1 billion valuation, though it has not yet reached it. Sentra currently employs 130 people, with 65 based at its Tel Aviv headquarters.
The funding round was led by Capital One Ventures, with participation from existing investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, Zeev Ventures, Standard Investments, Munich Re Ventures, and Key1 Capital. A representative from Capital One will join Sentra's board of directors. The round also included a small secondary component for employee shares, but the majority of the funds will go to the company's treasury.
Sentra was founded in 2021 by Yoav Regev (CEO), formerly commander of the cyber center in Unit 8200; Assaf Kahan (President), former commander in Unit 8200; Ron Reiter (CTO), who managed Oracle's development center in Tel Aviv; and Yair Cohen (VP Product), who held senior product roles at Microsoft and Datadog. Regev attributed the increased demand for Sentra's solutions to growing awareness of cyber risks and the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence in organizations. He highlighted recent breaches like PHP and Binance as examples of the urgent need for robust data security.
Regev announced plans for significant expansion, including doubling the workforce in Israel and the U.S., opening an office in London, and entering the U.S. federal market in the second half of next year. With tens of millions of dollars in current sales, Regev aims for Sentra to reach $100 million in sales and become the leading company in enterprise data security, competing with firms like Cyera and Varonis. Sentra's platform offers end-to-end data security, mapping access permissions, classifying sensitive information, and detecting anomalous access in real-time, including blocking suspicious AI agents. The company emphasizes that its solution operates within the client's environment to protect sensitive data.
