Palestinian Teacher Arrested for Praising Terrorists Who Killed IDF Officers

A Palestinian teacher from the Samaria region has been arrested on suspicion of inciting terrorism. For months, the suspect allegedly published praise for terrorists and expressed support for terror organizations. The investigation began after the counter-terrorism unit in the Judea and Samaria district monitored social media posts by the suspect.

IDF forces from the Samaria Brigade raided the teacher's home in the village of Tel, arrested him, and transferred him to police custody. During the investigation, it was revealed that the teacher, who teaches at a local school, had been posting content for months that included praise for terror groups, support for security prisoners, and glorification of terrorists.

One of the suspect's posts shared a picture of a monument erected in memory of four terrorists responsible for a shooting attack in the agricultural area of Tel village, which resulted in the deaths of two IDF officers. The monument was inscribed with "Garden of Martyrs." Alongside the picture, the suspect allegedly wrote, "May Allah have mercy on you, forgive you, accept you, and place you in the highest of His paradise." In another post, he referred to the terrorists as "my brothers, my beloved, and my cousins, the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on the homeland's soil, charging forward and not retreating."

Further investigation indicated that in the days following Hamas's October 7th terror attack, the suspect posted an illustration of a Hamas terrorist using a paraglider. Following his interrogation, the teacher was jailed. He is expected to be brought before a court, where police will request an extension of his detention for further investigation. The charges against him include incitement to terrorism, identification with a terror organization, and support for a terror organization.
