Approximately 2,000 housing units are slated for marketing by the end of the year in Tzfat's southern "Gateway" neighborhood, announced Yehuda Morgenstern, Director General of the Ministry of Construction and Housing, at a developers' conference in the city. Morgenstern emphasized Tzfat's attractiveness and significant potential, stating its development is crucial for the growth of the entire northern region.
The conference, titled "Tzfat. Above and Beyond," was organized by the Tzfat Municipality and the "Minuf" Administration to present the city's development plans to dozens of real estate developers and professionals. A key focus was the "historic" land agreement, which includes 7,294 housing units across eight development areas, tens of thousands of square meters for commerce and employment, and hundreds of millions of shekels for infrastructure, public buildings, and upgrading older neighborhoods.
The "Southern Gateway" district is central to these plans, envisioned to include about 4,000 housing units, 32,000 square meters for employment, and 15,000 square meters for commerce, along with public institutions and a new southern entrance to the city. Additionally, the first tender for approximately 830 housing units in the M-8 complex has already been published, and plans are underway to expand the southern industrial zone with about 155,000 square meters for employment and additional commercial spaces.
Morgenstern highlighted the land agreement's role in enabling significant construction and infrastructure investment, calling Tzfat an important target for land development and marketing. Mayor Yossi Cocon expressed his vision of transforming Tzfat into the capital of the Galilee, attracting families, businesses, and investments through new housing, infrastructure, and expanded commercial and employment areas. He invited developers to participate in the city's future development.
A professional panel, including municipal and national planning officials, addressed developers' questions regarding planning, land marketing, timelines, and project promotion. Ariel Olzwer, Director of the Northern District at the Ministry of Construction and Housing, stressed the collaboration with the municipality and "Minuf" Administration to remove barriers and expedite processes for developers.
