West Bank Rocket Production Cell Dismantled, Suspects to Face Charges

Israeli police and the Shin Bet security agency have concluded an investigation into a cell that manufactured rockets and explosives intended for use against Israel and its security forces. Six Arab residents of the Jenin area, all in their 30s, were arrested on suspicion of involvement. Over the weekend, prosecutors filed a statement of intent, signaling that indictments will be filed in the coming days.

The investigation, conducted over recent months by the Counter-Terrorism Unit of the Judea and Samaria District's Central Unit in cooperation with the Shin Bet, led to the seizure of weapons, including an M16 rifle and an RPG launcher body. Investigators learned that the suspects not only possessed weapons but also produced rocket bodies and explosive devices, conducting tests that included three experimental launches.

Further investigation revealed that an external contact, communicating with the main suspect via a messaging app, provided information on necessary materials for explosives production. Written materials containing instructions for manufacturing explosives, rockets, and charges were also confiscated. Authorities stated these means were intended for use in activities against Israel and its security forces.
