Dozens of protesters blocked the light rail in Jerusalem on Hayim Bar Lev Boulevard and at other locations in the city, protesting the arrest of a newlywed groom during his "Shiva Brachot" (seven days of post-wedding celebration). The demonstrators clashed with police, who forcibly removed them from the tracks. The groom, Yaari Lieberman, a yeshiva student, was arrested by military police on Sunday as he disembarked a bus with his bride, apparently tracked via his mobile phone. He was taken to a military prison. The bride was not informed that the arresting officers were military police, leading her to fear a kidnapping. The officers were reportedly not in uniform and lacked identification, increasing the fear and confusion. Earlier on Sunday, a military court ordered Lieberman to be held in military prison for 20 days, despite objections from Knesset members of the United Torah Judaism party.
