The Brooklyn Nets have exercised their third-year contract options on Israeli players Benny Shars and Denny Wolf, ensuring their presence on the team for the upcoming season. The team also picked up options for Yegor Dyomin, Nolan Traore, and Drake Powell. Shars is set to earn $3.17 million next season, while Wolf will make $3.08 million. These amounts are guaranteed, even if either player is later waived. Following the next season, Brooklyn holds another option for Shars at $5.7 million for the 2028-29 season and for Wolf at $5.59 million.

Shars may see increased playing time due to an injury to starting point guard Yegor Dyomin, who is sidelined for at least a week with a shinbone injury sustained in a game against Boston. Despite Dyomin's absence, competition for the point guard position remains significant, with Michael Brown Jr. and Nolan Traore also on the roster.

Shars has had limited minutes this NBA season, playing only four minutes in garbage time against Indiana and spending most of his time with the Nets' G-League team. The Nets face a busy week with upcoming games against Detroit, Indiana, New York, and Charlotte.
