The Brooklyn Nets of the NBA announced on Thursday evening that they have exercised contract options for five young players, including Israeli duo Ben Sherf and Denny Wolf, ensuring their continued presence with the team for the upcoming season. Sherf, 20, was selected 26th overall in the 2025 NBA draft. Although recently assigned to the Nets' G League affiliate, he began his previous season there before rejoining the senior squad and earning playing time. Wolf, 22, has also seen limited minutes in the current season. Last season, Wolf averaged 8.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 20.8 minutes over 57 games, starting 15 of them. The decision to exercise these options signals the Nets' commitment to developing their young talent, even those receiving fewer minutes. This move guarantees both Israeli players a salary for the 2027/28 season, though it does not immediately alter their professional standing.
