Boaz Bismuth, the Chairman of the Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, has called for the election results of Arab parties to be invalidated until an investigation into alleged vote-buying and foreign interference is completed. Bismuth stated that he had warned of such dangerous scenarios prior to the elections during committee discussions.

His remarks come amid an ongoing investigation into suspicions of vote buying within the Arab community. The probe was intensified after the Chairman of the Central Elections Committee, Judge Noam Sohlberg, instructed the Head of the Shin Bet, David Zini, to examine allegations of foreign funding and undue influence by external entities on the recent Knesset elections.

Sohlberg's letter noted serious suspicions of external intervention through funds originating from groups acting against Israeli interests, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation to either substantiate or refute these claims. The police also arrested additional suspects in connection with the election bribery case in the Arab community.

The investigation began following suspicions of an attempt to buy votes for the Ra'am party, after envelopes containing cash and party ballots were seized by police in the Negev. Bismuth's call aligns with demands from other senior coalition figures. Earlier, the Likud party labeled the suspicions "Ra'amgate" and alleged a foreign attempt to influence the Knesset's composition and the next government's identity, urging Zionist parties to avoid cooperation with Ra'am and the Joint List in post-election political maneuvers.
