Rosh HaAyin Municipality is advancing the "Sha'ar Ha'ir" (City Gate) project, a large-scale commercial, employment, and entertainment center planned for approximately 80 dunams at the city's entrance. Situated between Highway 5 and Derech HaDkalim, east of the "Lev Ha'aretz" industrial zone, the complex is in its final approval stages. Its location is intended to ensure high accessibility while maintaining distance from residential areas and preventing traffic congestion. The plan includes a major shopping center with retail spaces, restaurants, and entertainment venues, alongside parking, green areas, and water features. The project aims to address the lack of a central shopping center suitable for the city's size and population needs, expand resident options for shopping and leisure, and create new jobs to boost the local economy. This initiative joins other recent development plans approved by the city's subcommittee, including urban renewal on Shvutzi Street with a commercial center, underground parking, and residential towers, as well as a commerce and employment tower on the corner of Ha'Melacha and HaYetzira streets. Mayor stated that Rosh HaAyin is growing rapidly and the municipality is working to ensure commercial, employment, and leisure opportunities develop accordingly. He emphasized that "Sha'ar Ha'ir" will provide a significant shopping center at the city's entrance, complementing developments on Shvutzi Street and in the old industrial zone, with the goal of expanding job and leisure opportunities within the city.
