In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Winter took personal responsibility for mistakes made during the campaign, stating, "I also made mistakes on this journey and the responsibility is mine." He expressed his disappointment with the outcome but emphasized that his commitment to public service would not end with the election results.
Winter explained that his decision to enter politics was motivated by insights gained after the October 7th attacks, particularly his belief in the need for a different kind of leadership in Israel. He described this ideal leadership as "unifying, striving for truth and justice, knowing how to take responsibility, and knowing how to make decisions."
Despite the electoral setback, Winter thanked the "wonderful group of people" who supported his campaign, describing them as "fighters, one by one." He conveyed his belief that they tried to bring a message of "hope, partnership, and security," adding, "Unfortunately, I have not succeeded. Not yet."
Winter concluded his post by stating that he and his supporters are "here. For a long and shared journey," quoting the verse "Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy." He also stressed the importance of respecting the voters' decision and called on elected officials to form a good government for the people.
