A new general rehabilitation department and an expansion of the rehabilitation system have been inaugurated at the Medical Care Hospital in Bat Yam. The ceremony featured the arrival of Rabbi Shlomo Machfoud, a prominent halachic decisor, who affixed a mezuzah to the department's entrance and offered blessings.
Rabbi Machfoud emphasized the importance of healing and rehabilitation, stating, "This place is a place of rehabilitation, where there is unparalleled kindness, to lift a person from their suffering." His grandson, Yosef David Mograbi, shared that the Rabbi related the verse "Though a righteous person falls seven times, they rise again" to the essence of rehabilitation, signifying the ability to recover from physical or mental setbacks.
The new department received official operating permits this month and is initially opening with 17 beds, with plans to expand to 38. Upon full operation, the hospital's total rehabilitation beds will increase from 76 to 114, a 50% growth aimed at alleviating the strain on the healthcare system.
