The First to Zion, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, son and successor to Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, issued an urgent appeal to the Sephardic public on Tuesday. He expressed concern over high voter turnout in left-wing strongholds and the Arab sector, warning of a "danger to the world of Torah." Rabbi Yosef called on activists to mobilize for the success of the Shas party, stating, "The Arabs are all going in droves to vote. The leftists in Tel Aviv, all over the country, are running and working, it's amazing how they operate. The state will be left without Torah, the Torah is in danger. I hereby issue a holy call to all our Sephardic brethren."
Alongside his call to vote for Shas, Rabbi Yosef urged his followers to "act, go through your phones, call whomever you can. Everyone should do as much as possible to act, everyone should vote Shas."
