Hapoel Tel Aviv Coach Itoudis Previews Tough EuroLeague Week

Hapoel Tel Aviv, coming off a domestic league loss to Hapoel Jerusalem, aims to rebound in the EuroLeague on Wednesday against Anadolu Efes. Coach Dimitris Itoudis acknowledged the demanding nature of the upcoming "double week," which also includes a Friday game against Dubai. Itoudis described Anadolu Efes as a "very demanding" opponent that has significantly changed its identity this season. He noted the team's misfortune with the departure of Mike James, whom he praised as an "exceptional person and teammate." However, Itoudis highlighted the addition of the talented Cameron Payne, a former EuroLeague player skilled in shooting and playmaking. The coach detailed Efes's roster, emphasizing their blend of experience, athleticism, creativity, and scoring ability, along with their effective fast breaks and defensive pressure led by players like Matt Thomas. Itoudis also pointed out their versatile offensive schemes, utilizing both small and big lineups with their forwards, and stressed that Efes has proven strong both at home and on the road.
