Prior to voting, Eisenkot visited the grave of his son, Gal, who fell in combat during the Gaza war. "We are setting Israel on a new path," Eisenkot stated after voting. "We will be worthy. I commit."
Eisenkot also addressed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's campaign tactics, advising his supporters "not to be alarmed" by Netanyahu's statements. "After he presented a simulation of an atomic bomb in Tel Aviv, I suggest not to be frightened by his scare tactics," Eisenkot asserted.
