Voters are experiencing heavy turnout in Rahat and other Bedouin townships in the Negev region of Israel, with large numbers of residents arriving at polling stations since the morning hours for the 26th Knesset elections. Reporter Ariel Idan, on the ground in Rahat, described convoys of vehicles and crowds of people heading to vote.

One Rahat resident, Hussein Al-A'abra, told Channel 14 that the high turnout is unusual compared to previous elections. He attributed the surge to widespread criticism of the government's policies over the past four years, citing issues such as home demolitions and perceived mistreatment of Arab citizens as motivations for people to vote. Al-A'abra estimated that the voter turnout could reach 75% by the end of the day, predicting levels not seen since the 1980s.

Al-A'abra also noted that women were prioritized at the polls in the morning, with more voters expected throughout the day. He indicated that support in Rahat is primarily directed towards Arab parties, specifically Ra'am and the Joint List. Idan confirmed that the high voter activity is not limited to Rahat but is also being observed in other Bedouin communities in the Negev.

During the report, Idan also touched upon allegations of election bribery in the Negev, where three suspects were arrested for allegedly attempting to distribute money in exchange for votes for Ra'am. Al-A'abra stated he had no personal knowledge of these incidents but expressed hope for a thorough police investigation.
