Anorthosis Appoints Barak Itzhaki, Expects Immediate Impact

Anorthosis, currently last in the Cypriot league, has appointed Barak Itzhaki as its new coach this week. Club spokesperson Charalambos Perpetuas stated in an interview that Itzhaki meets all the criteria for the role and that the club expects him to have an immediate positive influence. Perpetuas explained that the decision to part ways with the previous coach, Nestor El Maestro, was made because the team was not meeting expectations, and the management believed a change was necessary.

Perpetuas highlighted Itzhaki's familiarity with Anorthosis, having played for the club in the 2012/13 season, as a significant advantage. He also noted Itzhaki's prior success coaching Beitar Jerusalem, where he took the team from a difficult position to fourth place and then to second place the following season. The spokesperson added that Itzhaki has received excellent recommendations.

The club is demanding an immediate response from the players, not just psychologically but also in terms of performance on the field. Peretuas emphasized that the responsibility lies with everyone, including the players, and that the team needs to show passion and make the greatest possible effort to turn over a new leaf. The upcoming match against Omonia Aradippou is scheduled for Saturday.
