Israeli airline Arkia has immediately halted ticket sales for its Tel Aviv to Marrakech route following new instructions from Israeli security services. The decision, announced Wednesday morning, October 21, will remain in effect indefinitely. The airline is in ongoing discussions with relevant authorities to understand the implications of the new requirements and determine if flights can continue as scheduled. Arkia is also working to find solutions for passengers who have already purchased tickets for upcoming travel.
Should Israeli authorities decide to completely ban flights by Israeli carriers to Marrakech, Arkia stated it would explore alternative arrangements. These could include commercial partnerships with other airlines or operating flights through foreign carriers to maintain the route. The company has pledged to keep passengers informed of any changes based on official directives and decisions.
The suspension of sales comes shortly after Arkia opened bookings for 2027, including a promotional offer for early bookings. This promotion, valid from October 18 to November 3, 2026, provides a 20% discount on all international flights and tour packages for travel between January 1 and October 25, 2027. The discount applies to peak travel periods like Passover, summer vacation, and the High Holidays, but excludes domestic Israeli flights. Bookings can be made via Arkia's website or customer service.
