Former Beitar Jerusalem coach Barak Yitzhaki has officially returned to Anorthosis, this time as the team's new manager. Yitzhaki, who previously played for the Cypriot club over a decade ago, is reportedly close to finalizing his deal.

Anorthosis is currently facing a significant challenge due to a FIFA-imposed transfer ban, which will prevent the club from signing new players for two more transfer windows. This penalty stems from previous fair play violations, meaning Yitzhaki will be unable to bring in reinforcements until at least the January 2028 window, unless the club resolves its outstanding debts.

Despite the transfer restrictions, club officials are optimistic about Yitzhaki's potential to turn the team's fortunes around. They were reportedly impressed by his work with Beitar Jerusalem and believe he can enhance the team's competitiveness.

The team is currently in dire straits in the Cypriot league, sitting second to last after six matches with only one win and five losses, including three consecutive defeats. Anorthosis has conceded 13 goals while scoring only four, matching the lowest tally in the league alongside bottom-placed Karmiotissa.
