Onami Marks 27 Years With 27-Shekel Dishes and a Busy Week of Food Specials

Japanese restaurant Onami is celebrating 27 years throughout July with a special menu of Japanese tapas and drinks priced at 27 shekels. From 5 p.m. each day, the Tel Aviv restaurant will serve items including Shiro Saka Kawa temaki, a cone with mixed white fish, gunkan salmon mix, inari special with white fish mix, and new dishes by chef Roi Sofer such as mini fish ramen, black garlic miso eggplant, and crispy tamari.

Elsewhere in the food scene, Tena is launching a July series called “Women Pouring Summer,” bringing seven women from the wine and culinary worlds to host tastings and pairings with wines from Ramat HaGolan and Galilee Heights wineries. Guests include food journalist Osnat Guetta, mixologist Shahar Kreisler, journalist Merav Sarig, restaurateur and Nanachochka founder Nana Shrier, wine blogger Shalhe Pardes, sommelier Shira Granot, and chef-journalist Maya Daran, appearing on selected dates in Tel Aviv and Ra’anana.

Mimi is marking 10 years with a limited-edition pastry collection available June 25 to 27, featuring 10 pastries dedicated to cities around the world, including Paris, Sorrento, Vienna, Naples, New York and Provence. Paris Texas has joined the skewer trend with a new menu at its flagship Givatayim branch only, offering skewers such as entrecote, sirloin, wagyu, kebab, chicken thighs, churros and hearts, served with salads and chips.

Salon Greek has unveiled a summer menu inspired by Greek islands, with new salads, raw fish dishes and pasta, while keeping its Dinner & Party format with Greek performers. Nura in the Jerusalem hills has launched a new summer menu and a 98-shekel business lunch, and chef Tomás Yul will appear for a one-day pop-up at Barberini in Ashdod on Friday, June 26, from 12:00 to 17:00. The week also includes Caesar’s Beach Friday “Greek Fridays” in Caesarea and a beer festival in Modi’in celebrating the city’s 30th anniversary.
