Senior political correspondent Ari Kalman leaves Israel Hayom for new JNS venture

Ariel Kahana, Israel Hayom’s political reporter and commentator, announced Thursday morning that he is leaving the newspaper after nine intense years to take on a new professional role in the local and international media market.

Kahana said he has been chosen to lead and launch the Hebrew Israeli edition of the international news agency JNS, Jerusalem News Syndicate. The new outlet is expected to go live in the coming weeks, and he said it will focus on serious, high-quality news while making use of the most advanced technological tools available to media organizations today.

In his farewell remarks, Kahana thanked Israel Hayom editor in chief Omar Lachmanovitch for years of friendship and professional guidance, as well as the paper’s staff and colleagues who worked with him throughout nearly a decade of political reporting. He also singled out publisher Dr. Miriam Adelson, saying, “Special thanks to Dr. Miriam Adelson, who יחד עם Sheldon, may he rest in peace, saved my previous home, Makor Rishon, back in 2014. מאז I have been able to see up close their absolute and noble commitment to the Jewish people and to its state.”
