Alex Sklar Files NIS 3 Million Defamation Suit Against Efi and Tzvika Nave

The story · English

Billionaire Alex Sklar has escalated his bitter divorce-related feud with the Nave brothers into court, filing a NIS 3 million defamation and damages lawsuit against former Israeli Bar Association chief Efi Nave and his brother, Tzvika Nave. The suit comes alongside Sklar’s ongoing public campaign of billboards targeting the brothers.

According to the complaint, filed through attorney Yaakov Borovsky, Tzvika Nave submitted false complaints against Borovsky to the ethics committee of the Haifa District of the Israel Bar Association. Sklar says those complaints were meant to harm him and amount to serious defamation. The filing also names Efi Nave, alleging that he used his connections and influence inside the Bar Association to help advance the allegedly false complaints.

The lawsuit follows a countersuit already filed in February, when Tzvika Nave sued Sklar for defamation for NIS 10 million. People close to the dispute say this is only the start of a long legal battle involving wealth, legal and political ties, and deep personal grievances that will be argued in court.

Tzvika Nave said the lawsuit was sent to the media before he was properly served, calling it a “transparent, cynical and desperate” attempt to generate headlines and pressure through the press rather than pursue a serious legal process. He said he will respond in court once formally served, and denied any personal role in the ethics complaints beyond supporting his brother. Efi Nave also rejected the case as baseless and said he has no economic stake in the disputes, adding that no lawyer would represent Sklar and Borovsky so Sklar had to act for himself.
