Erez Isakov Sues Ron Nesher for $165,000 Over Defamation
Reality TV personality Erez Isakov has officially filed a lawsuit for 600,000 shekels (approximately $165,000) against fellow personality Ron Nesher, alleging defamation and damage to his reputation. The legal action stems from a dispute that escalated following their involvement in the reality show "Gullstar."
According to "Israel Entertainment," the lawsuit details a series of statements and publications Nesher allegedly made against Isakov over a period of time. These remarks were reportedly disseminated across digital platforms, social media, public appearances, and interviews, with some gaining significant traction and being reposted on entertainment sites.
Isakov had previously addressed the conflict publicly, criticizing Nesher's statements, particularly in light of public discourse on childhood bullying. In an Instagram video, Isakov stated, "To say such words on such a stage, in such a capacity, with an audience, especially in today's generation where we constantly see in the headlines that there are boycotts of children, and we also see suicides following the event, this phenomenon, it is the most foolish and idiotic thing one can do."
At that time, Isakov revealed his intention to pursue a defamation lawsuit, mentioning a sum in the hundreds of thousands of shekels. He also pledged to donate any awarded funds to children experiencing bullying. The lawsuit has now been formally filed for 600,000 shekels.
Isakov's legal representatives stated, "Freedom of expression is not a license to trample a person, humiliate them publicly, and damage their good name. When this is done repeatedly, in front of an audience and on platforms with wide exposure, it is crossing a red line. Our client will not allow the normalization of violent, degrading, and humiliating discourse, and we will act to exhaust all his rights."
Nesher responded to the news on Instagram, questioning the lawsuit's validity. He commented, "Funny, I haven't received any lawsuit, but apparently, taking a screenshot of a document is enough."
