Billions-Scale Feud Spills Onto Highway Billboards in Israel
A bitter dispute between billionaire Alex Sklar and private investigator Tzvika Neve has spilled out of the courtroom and onto giant billboards at busy intersections in Gush Dan, including at the entrance to Bnei Brak. The ads, which many residents in ultra-Orthodox cities have asked about, accuse Neve in harsh terms and have been described as resembling a public lynching rather than normal advertising.
According to Sklar, who spoke to Globes in an interview with Jennifer Sillon, the campaign is part of what he sees as a fight to “clean society of weeds.” He alleges that Neve uses illegal methods, including supposed extortion to achieve financial goals. Sklar said, “I went into this battle and I will win,” adding that if the matter were only personal he would have handled it differently. He insisted, “The limit is the law,” and challenged anyone who thinks he crossed it to test him in court.
Neve, who is also known as the brother of former Israel Bar Association head Efi Nave, responded through Globes with a sharp denial. He said the “Russian oligarch” Sklar is trying to escape financial claims totaling tens of millions of shekels filed against him in Australia and Israel by Neve, by Sklar’s former wife Violeta, and by others. Neve’s side said disputes should be decided by evidence in court, not media campaigns, and denied all accusations against him.
The background includes both financial disputes and a family link, since Neve is married to Sklar’s ex-wife Violeta. Parallel lawsuits are now moving through the courts, with Neve seeking 10 million shekels and Sklar’s lawyers seeking 5 million shekels. The public fight continues to play out on roadside billboards as the legal battle heads toward a court resolution.
