Channel 14 Falls Behind as Channel 11 World Cup Coverage Surges
Israel’s TV ratings shifted sharply in recent weeks, largely because the 2026 World Cup broadcasts on public broadcaster Kan have drawn big audiences and disrupted the usual dominance of the commercial channels. Sunday night’s figures showed direct competition across prime time, with Kan posting its strongest surprise of the evening and Channel 14 holding steady but unable to break into the top three.
In prime time, Keshet 12’s “Married at First Sight” remained the night’s leader with 13.2% viewership. Reshet 13’s “Big Brother” came second with 12.4%. The biggest shock came from Kan 11, whose live World Cup broadcast of Belgium vs. Iran reached 11.2%, good for third place. Channel 14’s “The Patriots,” hosted by Yinon Magal, finished fourth with 7.5%. i24NEWS closed the ranking with “The Israelis” at 0.4%.
The 8 p.m. news race told a similar story. Keshet 12 News kept first place easily with 11.5%. Kan News placed second with 6.7%, airing later than usual because of the match schedule. Channel 14 News came third with 6%, ahead of Reshet 13 News, which had a weak evening at 4.6%. i24NEWS News ended the list with 0.9%.
