Hapag-Lloyd CEO to Visit Israel with New Offer for Zim Shipping Company

The CEO of German shipping giant Hapag-Lloyd, Rolf Habben Jansen, is scheduled to visit Israel to work with the FIMI investment fund on a revised offer to acquire Israel Corporation's (Zim) shipping company. The new proposal aims to address concerns raised by Israeli regulators who previously opposed the $4.2 billion deal. Six out of eight required regulators had rejected the initial offer, citing worries about Zim's international shipping routes and financial stability. Hapag-Lloyd and FIMI are reportedly preparing this new bid in response to these regulatory objections.
