דובר צה"ל הודיע כי במהלך חג הסוכות תתאפשר כניסת מטיילים לחלק משטחי האימונים, הידועים גם כשטחי אש, בדרום הארץ. ההחלטה התקבלה בהתאם להערכת מצב ועל רקע המצב המבצעי, ולכן הכניסה תהיה מוגבלת. צה"ל פרסם מפה המפרטת את האזורים שיהיו פתוחים למטיילים ואת אלו שיישארו סגורים. ההגבלות נועדו להבטיח את שלומם של המטיילים ולשמור על כשירות הכוחות המבצעיים.
