IDF Restricts Access to Training Areas During Jewish Holidays Due to Security Situation
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that due to the ongoing security situation and operational assessments, access for hikers to some training areas, known as firing zones, in southern Israel will be limited during the High Holidays. The military urged the public not to enter restricted areas, allowing security forces to continue their missions without disruption.
The IDF spokesperson emphasized that training activities occur constantly in these zones and that entering any military area requires prior coordination and approval. Failure to obtain this authorization poses a significant risk to hikers' safety. Access to the permitted areas will be granted only after coordinating three days in advance.
