IDF to Partially Open Southern Training Grounds for Public During Jewish Holidays
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that parts of its live-fire training zones in southern Israel will be opened to the public on a limited basis during the upcoming High Holidays (Chagim). This decision comes after an assessment of the security situation.
Access to these areas will require prior coordination and approval at least three days in advance due to ongoing operational activities. The military emphasized that training exercises are conducted in these zones regularly, and unauthorized entry poses a direct risk to visitors' safety. The IDF urged the public to adhere strictly to safety guidelines, avoid restricted areas, and allow security forces to carry out their missions without interference.
Visitors who encounter unexploded ordnance, ammunition, or any suspicious objects are instructed to immediately move away from the area and report it to the Ground Forces and Southern Command.
