מקורות פלסטיניים דיווחו כי משלחת של חמאס מקיימת בקהיר סדרת התייעצויות עם פלגים פלסטיניים בנושאים פוליטיים שוטפים. על פי הדיווחים, את המשלחת מוביל חוסאם באדראן, חבר הלשכה המדינית וראש הלשכה לקשרים לאומיים, ולצדו משתתפים ג'אזי חמאד, עלי באראכה, סוהייל אל-הינדי ומחמוד מרדאווי.
