השר לביטחון לאומי, איתמר בן גביר, התייחס היום (יום רביעי) לפיגוע הדקירה שאירע הבוקר בירושלים, בו נפצעו שני בני אדם. בן גביר קרא לחסל את המחבל שביצע את הפיגוע. "במידה ולא יחסלו אותו, מקומו בחבל התלייה", אמר השר. הפיגוע התרחש ברחוב הנביאים בעיר, כאשר המחבל דקר שני אזרחים ונמלט מהמקום. כוחות הביטחון פתחו במרדף אחר המחבל, ועד כה הוא לא נתפס. בן גביר הוסיף כי הוא פועל לקידום חקיקה שתאפשר הטלת עונש מוות על מחבלים, אך ציין כי "לחוקק חוק זה סבבה, לקיים אותו עדיין לא סבבה".
