Israeli artist Yaacov Agam dies at 98
Yaacov Agam, one of Israel’s most influential artists and a pioneer of kinetic art, has died at the age of 98. He was a Israel Prize laureate and a co-founder of the Agam Museum in Rishon LeZion.
The Israeli and international art world is mourning one of its trailblazing creators. Agam was widely regarded as one of Israel’s greatest artists and among the founders of kinetic art worldwide.
His coffin will be placed at the plaza outside the Agam Museum in Rishon LeZion on Monday, June 22, 2026, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The funeral will leave from the military cemetery plaza in Rehovot on the same day at 5:00 p.m.
The shiva will be held at the Agam Museum, 1 Mishar Street, Rishon LeZion. Visiting hours will run Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and Tuesday through Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
