צה"ל החליט לסיים את שירותו של סגן-אלוף א', קצין המודיעין של אוגדת עזה ביום מתקפת השבעה באוקטובר. ההחלטה התקבלה לאחר בחינת ממצאי תחקירים פנימיים הנוגעים לכשלים בתפקודו של הקצין בתקופה שקדמה למתקפה. שמו של הקצין, ששירותו הופסק, טרם הותר לפרסום. ההחלטה מגיעה שלוש שנים לאחר האירועים.
