צה"ל הדיח מתפקידו את קצין המטה (קמ"ן) של אוגדת עזה, תא"ל במילואים אילן סבג, בעקבות אירועי ה-7 באוקטובר. ההדחה באה כחלק מתחקיר צה"ל בנוגע לאחריות הפיקודית לאירועים שהתרחשו באותו היום. סבג, ששימש כקמ"ן האוגדה בזמן המתקפה, נושא באחריות פיקודית למחדל. ההחלטה להדיח אותו התקבלה לאחר בחינת ממצאי התחקיר הראשוניים, אשר הצביעו על כשלים בתפקודו ובאחריותו. צה"ל ממשיך בתחקיר האירועים ובבחינת האחריות הפיקודית של קצינים נוספים. ההדחה של סבג מהווה צעד ראשון ביישום לקחי המלחמה והבטחת אחריותיות פיקודית.
