Shin Bet Authorized to Determine Security for Party Leaders
The Ministerial Committee for Shin Bet Affairs has authorized the Shin Bet security agency to independently determine the necessary security arrangements for party leaders who are civilians and currently lack protection. This measure will remain in effect until the 26th Knesset is sworn in. Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar will decide if and how to provide security for Gadi Eisenkot, Gideon Sa'ar, and Ofer Winter. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not participate in this decision. Former leaders Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid, and Avigdor Lieberman continue to receive security due to their previous roles.
