Report: Russian Satellites Aided Iranian Attacks on US Bases

A CNN report indicates that 14 Russian spy satellites passed over a US base in Saudi Arabia two days before it was attacked by Iran. US and international intelligence officials suggest the timing and data gathered by these satellites enabled Tehran to conduct some of its most precise strikes against American targets during the recent conflict.

Meanwhile, US officials have revealed new details about an Iranian missile attack targeting Jordan last week. According to The Wall Street Journal, the US military launched at least 70 advanced air defense missiles, including THAAD missiles, during the incident. The extensive use of munitions highlights Iran's growing capability to strike US forces and challenge American air defense systems, with one source comparing the scale to a full week of US combat operations.

Additionally, The Wall Street Journal reported that the US is investigating suspicions of an Iranian cyberattack against at least two oil and gas tankers last month. The incident occurred as the vessels, flying foreign flags, transited the Strait of Gibraltar en route to the United States. A joint investigation team, led by the US Coast Guard and including FBI agents, boarded the tankers in the Gulf of Mexico in late August to examine their operational and information systems, following indications of network breaches.

The cyberattack, if confirmed, raises concerns that Iran is expanding its confrontation beyond the Middle East to new areas.
