הוגשה הצהרת תובע לקראת הגשת כתב אישום נגד מתנדב בשירות לאומי בכבאות והצלה, בן 19 מכפר קאסם. הצעיר נעצר לפני כחודש בחשד שתכנן לבצע פיגוע במסגרת תפקידו כמתנדב באחת מתחנות הכיבוי במרכז הארץ. על פי החקירה, הוא התכוון לבצע את הפיגוע באתר אסטרטגי שאליו הגיע במסגרת עבודתו.

בנוסף, עלה חשד כי המתנדב יצר קשר עם גורמי חמאס ועם גורם המזוהה עם המודיעין האיראני. הוא אף ניסה להקים חוליית טרור, לגייס אליה שניים ממכריו בכפר קאסם ולייצר מטעני חבלה. במהלך חיפוש בביתו נתפסו כלי איירסופט וציוד אימונים.
