מפלגת הליכוד הגישה לוועדת הבחירות המרכזית בקשה לפסול את מפלגת רע"מ, בראשות מנסור עבאס, מהתמודדות בבחירות הקרובות. הנימוק לבקשה הוא "תמיכה במאבק מזוין של ארגון טרור נגד מדינת ישראל, וזאת לצד שלילת קיומה של מדינת ישראל כמדינה יהודית ודמוקרטית". הליכוד טוען כי התבטאויותיו של עבאס ופעולות המפלגה תומכות בטרור ושוללות את עצם קיומה של ישראל.
