Likud Seeks to Disqualify Arab Parties from Knesset Elections
The Likud party announced it will submit requests to disqualify the Joint List and the Ra'am party from running in the upcoming Knesset elections. The party stated that "there is no place in the Knesset for those who harm IDF soldiers and are unable to say that Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations."
Likud further claimed that supporters of these groups are the "natural partners" of Benny Gantz, whom they accused of wanting to form a government with Yair Golan and Avigdor Lieberman. Likud concluded by stating, "This must not be allowed to happen."
The announcement followed an interview where Ra'am party chairman Mansour Abbas was repeatedly asked about his stance on Hamas. He refused to explicitly label Hamas a terrorist organization, stating instead, "I have a clear answer, but I will not say it. All the time I receive threats from Arabs, Jews, and criminal organizations."
