Joint List Rejects Likud Bid to Disqualify Arab Parties

The Joint List has responded to the Likud party's announcement of its intention to petition the Central Elections Committee to disqualify the Joint List and the Unified List from running in the upcoming elections. In a statement, the Joint List asserted that this move is part of an ongoing effort to persecute Arab parties and their candidates, aiming to delegitimize Arab political action and the right of Arab citizens to organize and be represented.

The Joint List accused the Likud of resorting to incitement and threats of disqualification, turning its rhetoric against Arabs and Palestinians into official policy. The party declared that it is the Likud, along with Prime Minister Netanyahu and their "racist and fascist policies," that should be removed not only from the elections but from the political map entirely. They further alleged that Netanyahu fears electoral defeat.

The Joint List urged its supporters to translate these disqualification attempts into increased voter turnout, viewing it as a catalyst to oust Netanyahu's government, which they described as led by "Ben Gvir, Smotrich," and pushing the region towards further conflict and destruction. They warned that the current government is rapidly accelerating the country towards apartheid and deepening policies of discrimination and racism.

Concluding their statement, the Joint List called for a strong response on October 27th through votes and political action, emphasizing the importance of maximum participation in the elections to vote for the Joint List, which they presented as a safeguard for the entire Arab population, promising a better future and true political standing.
