Harish Yeshiva Releases New Musical Work Expressing Longing for the Temple

As the period of the Three Weeks approached and the school year ended, students at Harish Yeshiva, a secondary religious school in Harish, unveiled a new musical piece titled “Longing for the Temple.” The work was released ahead of the days of mourning leading up to Tisha B’Av and at the close of the academic year.

The yeshiva said the piece is meant to express yearning for holiness and for the Temple, and the desire of teenage students to connect with spiritual worlds. “With the end of the year and just before the Three Weeks, a great longing awakens,” the school said, describing it as “longing for holiness and for the Temple” and as the hopes of boys “filled with vitality and a special blessing” who yearn for something that is deeply missing in daily life.

The school added that “Longing for the Temple” is “a meeting of heaven and earth, a meeting of dream and reality, a meeting of a wonderful group that chose to sing and create together in order to build a broad circle of belonging.” That belonging, it said, includes belonging to the yeshiva, to the group, to a life marked by reverence for heaven, and to a level of holiness drawn from the source of sanctity.

At the end of the description, the yeshiva prayed that “the Temple be rebuilt במהרה בימינו, in our days, and among us.” The musical production was handled by Shacham Ohana, with participation from students in the yeshiva’s musical ensemble, along with additional musicians and production staff.
