A new performance of a tune long sung at Yeshivat Mekor Chaim has been released in the Modzitz Hasidic style, with the yeshiva's students taking part. The song, "Baruch El Elyon," is performed by Uriah Naor and Yonatan Bilt together with students from the yeshiva.
According to the creators, it is a melody that has been sung at the yeshiva for many years, one that "opens the heart" to stories and features a complex, beautiful Modzitz tune. The lyrics are by Rabbi Baruch ben Shmuel of Magdeburg, and the melody is attributed to the Modzitz Hasidic tradition.
Yigal Shatner handled the arrangement, music production, and guitars. The chorus included Amiḥai Reis, Aharon Arman, Karmi Orbach, Bari Cohen, Ariel Sukolover, Matanya Bernstein, Itamar Atzion, Yisrael Sudri, Oz Ben Nahum, and Rave Eliraz.
Aharon Balti played clarinet, Avishai Yashar played drums, and Ori Cohen handled piano, mixing, and mastering. Vocals and backing tracks were recorded at the yeshiva by Shatner, with additional recordings at the studios of Nachman Porat, Ori Cohen, and Avishai Yashar. Neve Zuckerman and Barak Diamant were responsible for the visual design, while Elishiv Groner, Rabbi Meir Shimshoni, and Rabbi Gilad Rosenberg helped behind the scenes.
