Following the success of their hit "K'shoshana," Shimi Lifshitz and Moti Wizel have released a new musical project that breathes fresh life into a beloved melody by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. The single "Chanenu," launched this week, merges ancient tradition with contemporary expression, offering listeners a distinct experience from the original tune.

The inspiration for this project emerged during Rosh Hashanah prayers in Uman, at the "Nekuda Tova" prayer group. When cantor Shimi Fried began singing Carlebach's melody on the words "Hayom Heret Olam," Lifshitz and Wizel felt an immediate connection and recognized the need for a new interpretation. The song, centered on hope, prayer, and yearning amid exile, conveys the Jewish people's deep longing for salvation.

Musical arrangement by Yanki Landau, an experienced figure in Hasidic music, combines the soul of Carlebach's original tune with modern, dynamic energy. The vocals of Lifshitz and Wizel paired with sophisticated production create a fresh sound that resonates with today's audience while preserving the authentic emotion.

Accompanying the single is a high-quality music video produced by Hershi Segal, featuring innovative AI technology. Filmed in a unique Irish bar, the video integrates Lifshitz and Wizel into historical milestones of the Jewish people, visually narrating their suffering, persecutions, and ultimate redemption.
