US Aircraft Damaged in Iranian Attack on Jordanian Air Base

Multiple U.S. Air Force aircraft sustained damage during an Iranian missile attack on the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, according to American reports. An A-10 attack aircraft reportedly suffered severe damage, with its wing torn off. Additionally, approximately eight F-15 fighter jets sustained minor damage and have since returned to operational status.

The attack on the Jordanian base is part of a broader escalation between the United States and Iran. This incident follows reports of American airstrikes in Syria and explosions near Minab and Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran's Revolutionary Guard had previously claimed to have attacked two American vessels and eight oil tankers in the Persian Gulf.

These exchanges occurred after U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the destruction of five Iranian oil tankers in response to ballistic missile launches targeting a U.S. warship. In response to the escalating tensions, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio issued a stern warning to Tehran, stating that Iran would lose oil tankers for every U.S. Navy vessel it attempts to harm.
