הרב משה שטרנבוך הביע את ברכתו ותמיכתו במיזם "כלא 1,000", יוזמה שמטרתה לסייע כלכלית לבני תורה הנעצרים בשל לימוד התורה. הרב שטרנבוך חיזק את ידי העוסקים במלאכה ואת כלל המצטרפים למיזם, ואיחל להם הצלחה ושנה טובה.

"כלא 1,000" נועד להעניק סיוע של 1,000 שקלים לכל יום מעצר לבני תורה ומשפחותיהם, ומבוסס על מודל של קרנות ערבות הדדית. המיזם שואף להעניק ביטחון כלכלי, לסייע בהוצאות נלוות וליצור תחושת אחריות קהילתית.
