Refreshed Isuzu D-MAX Pickup Truck Arrives in Israel with New Powertrain

The updated third-generation Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck, a long-standing competitor to the Toyota Hilux, has been launched in Israel following its international debut in 2019 and a recent facelift. The new D-MAX features a revised powertrain, including a larger 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 163 horsepower and 40.7 kgm of torque at a lower 1,600 rpm, replacing the previous 1.9-liter unit. This engine is paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission, up from the previous 6-speed.

The fuel economy remains largely unchanged, rated between 11.1 and 11.3 km/liter. Towing capacity is 2,500 kg for two-wheel-drive versions and 3,500 kg for four-wheel-drive models. The D-MAX will be offered in five trim levels, with prices remaining consistent with the outgoing model. A single-cab 2X4 base model is expected later this year.

Trim levels vary in features, with higher trims like the LS Premium and LSE Premium offering amenities such as keyless entry and start, leather upholstery, power-adjustable driver's seat, advanced safety systems including blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and larger infotainment screens. Safety ratings vary by trim, with the higher-end models achieving a score of 6 out of 8 from the Ministry of Transport, equipped with up to eight airbags and adaptive cruise control.

Pricing for the new D-MAX ranges from NIS 260,000 for the base 2X4 single-cab model to NIS 313,000 for the top-tier 4X4 LSE Premium double-cab version. All models come with a 5-year or 120,000 km warranty, with service intervals set at one year or 15,000 km.
