Refreshed Isuzu D-MAX Pickup Arrives in Israel With New Powertrain

The updated Isuzu D-MAX pickup truck has been launched in Israel, featuring a significant powertrain upgrade. The popular model, a long-time competitor to the Toyota Hilux, receives a new 2.2-liter diesel engine replacing the previous 1.9-liter unit. While maintaining the same 163 horsepower, the new engine offers increased torque of 40.7 kgf-m, available at a lower 1,600 rpm.

This new engine is paired with an updated 8-speed automatic transmission, up from the previous 6-speed. Fuel efficiency remains largely unchanged, rated between 11.1 and 11.3 kilometers per liter. Towing capacity is rated at 2,500 kg for the rear-wheel-drive version and 3,500 kg for the four-wheel-drive model.

The D-MAX retains its five trim levels, with prices remaining consistent with the outgoing model. The lineup includes single and double cabin configurations. Base models feature an 8-inch multimedia screen, a 7-inch instrument cluster display, and rain and light sensors. Higher trims add features like leather upholstery, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and an upgraded safety suite.

Safety features across the range include up to 8 airbags, adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and driver fatigue alerts. Premium trims offer an expanded safety package with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and an additional airbag between the driver and front passenger.

Pricing for the refreshed D-MAX starts at NIS 260,000 for the single-cabin 2X4 model and goes up to NIS 313,000 for the top-tier LSE Premium 4X4 double-cabin version. Isuzu is offering a 5-year or 120,000 km warranty, with service intervals set at one year or 15,000 km.
