The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Tuesday that it conducted a targeted strike in the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, eliminating Omar Muhammad Rushdi Sarraj, identified as the commander of Hamas's supply and logistics battalion for the city. According to the IDF, Sarraj was responsible for managing the flow of weapons to Hamas operatives within Gaza City.

During the same operation, another Hamas operative involved in military activities was also targeted. The IDF stated that these individuals were advancing terror plans against Israeli forces and civilians and were working to restore the organization's capabilities, in violation of the ceasefire.

The strike was carried out to neutralize an immediate threat. Southern Command forces are deployed in the area and will continue to operate to remove any threats.
