The story · English

Bank Hapoalim has launched a new dedicated website designed to cater to the specific needs of its ultra-Orthodox customers. The site, which went live recently, centralizes banking services, allowing users to perform a wide range of transactions conveniently from home.

The website is designed to be non-operational on Shabbat and Jewish holidays, adhering to religious observances. It prominently features the bank's "Heter Iska," a document permitting interest-based transactions according to Jewish law, which has been prepared and approved by the Badatz of the Edah HaChareidis in Jerusalem and the Great Rabbinical Court in Jerusalem. This permit allows customers to access various financing solutions and banking services in compliance with Halakha.

Israel Dekelbaum, head of the bank's operations in the ultra-Orthodox sector, stated that many customers from this community already utilize the bank's advanced digital services. He emphasized the bank's commitment to innovation and initiative, making it important to provide a tailored, centralized online platform. Dekelbaum noted the overwhelmingly positive customer feedback received since the site's launch, highlighting its success in meeting the needs of observant Jewish customers with truly adapted banking solutions.
