  • West Bank new home sales doubled in early 2026 compared to all of 2025.
  • The region saw 534 new apartment sales in the first six months of 2026.
  • This sales increase contrasts with a national decline in new home purchases.
  • Active construction sites and multi-story building projects have grown.
  • A CEO cited location, quality of life, and community as drivers of the boom.

The first half of 2026 has seen a significant increase in new apartment sales in the West Bank, with more units sold between January and June than in all of 2025. Official statistics from the Central Bureau of Statistics reveal that 534 new apartments were sold in the West Bank during the first six months of 2026. This figure surpasses the total of 453 units sold throughout 2025 and approaches the 576 units sold in the entirety of 2024. This trend stands in stark contrast to the national housing market, which experienced an average sales contraction of 1.8% across all districts.

Alongside the sales boom, construction activity in the West Bank has also expanded. In the first quarter of 2026, there were 4,335 active housing units under construction, an increase from the 4,224 units recorded in all of 2025. The nature of construction has also shifted over the past decade. In 2016, single or two-story single-family homes constituted 44.1% of active construction. By March 2026, this share had fallen to 31.2%. Conversely, construction of buildings with three to six stories has grown significantly, from 25.2% of active construction in 2016 to 47.1% in March 2026.

Ran Yanai, CEO of C.P. Building Company, commented on the data, stating that the surge in sales and activity is not surprising and reflects the area's true potential. He noted that the public now recognizes the advantages of the location, quality of life, and economic benefits offered by the West Bank. Beyond traditional ideological motivations, Yanai observed a significant influx of new populations, including young families, drawn by the strong community ties and high quality of life. He added that the company's focus on denser, quality construction is tailored to meet the needs of these demographics, providing an ideal solution for families and those upgrading their homes.
