Economy Ministry Warns of Dangerous Techline Phone Charger

Israel's Economy and Industry Ministry has issued an urgent warning to the public, demanding the immediate cessation of use for a specific Techline brand wall charger. The charger, manufactured in China and distributed under model number 2A-DU-F19F with barcode 6983536521987, was found to pose severe risks of electrocution and fire.

A test conducted by "Hermon Laboratories Ltd." on behalf of the Ministry's supervisor of standards revealed that the charger fails to meet mandatory Israeli standard requirements. The charger's casing and internal components are not sufficiently resistant to heat and fire. This deficiency could lead to the plastic softening or melting during normal operation or malfunction, causing short circuits, ignition, and electrocution hazards.

Furthermore, the charger's plug pins were found to be thicker than permitted by the standard, potentially damaging electrical outlets or their insulation. This exposes live parts, creating additional risks of electrocution or short circuits. The internal transformer also lacks the required insulation.
